Introduction
The Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce for
Russia and
Belarus is an independent, private, non-governmental, and (since 1999) non profit making organisation. It is a member of the Belgian Federation of Chambers of Commerce and was established in 1974 as a branch of ABEC. After the collapse of
USSR, this branch became in 1992 "the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce for
Russia,
Belarus,
Ukraine and
Kazakhstan". From 1994-95 the Chamber has developed additional activities with information letters to members, and the organization of several official business missions from
Russia and
Belarus.
Being a member of the Chamber gives free access to all economic operators interested in trade and/or investments in Russia and Belarus:
• Qualified assistance and up-to-date information to initiate or develop trade or investment activities in Russia and Belarus,

• Help in search for business partners,
• Market research,
• Access to a database of government addresses, subsidies, foreign trade and investment activities,
• Documentation on production standards, development possibilities, trade customs, legislation,
• Legal advice (through Moscow cabinet),
• Visa procedures, etc.
Experience & Resources
The Management Committee of the Chamber is composed of experienced individuals most of whom speak the Russian language and have long work experience in
Russia or with
Russia. The Chamber has provided market information, advice and assistance for many years, helping companies to start or to develop business in
Russia and
Belarus. In addition it helps identify the most suitable partners, advising and assisting SMEs with regard to visa procedures etc. Other resources include helping individuals and companies in legislative issues in
Russia and
Belarus, and in new product development and services supplied by both countries.
